Recently, we were fortunate to have been included on an album featuring Fabrizio Poggi and Chicken Mambo. They are some spiritually captivating Italian men. Truly.
We were asked to sing vocal harmonies on one of their songs on the new album "Spirit and Freedom". Little did we know that they would also be touring in Texas, and we would get an opportunity to meet them as well.
Yes, they were to play at the Marble Falls Uptown Theater and ShAnnie, along with some other singers would help with the harmonies. We arrived that lovely Saturday afternoon for a quick rehearsal and then the show would begin...
One player in particular, the bass player, Roberto Re, became a good friend of ours. The show ended and after a very moving conversation under lights in the alley beside the theater, where all the musicians were hopping from person to person sharing their gratitude; Roberto caught our hearts...
But it was his way with words that made the whole experience seem that much sweeter.
