Story

I was watching tv one day, searching for inspiration. I desperately wanted to put words to a melody that I had running through my mind for days. I paused the tv and focused on the guitar... but... nothing was happening. I looked up at the tv and realized that it had been paused for 3 minutes, which is how the song started... but it was after seeing an old classic black and white movie about a couple that fall in love at a train station only to end up leaving each other behind, that the song wrote itself. God Bless those old classics... the sad thing is... I cannot remember the name of the movie. Finally, Shan came home and helped put the finishing touches... the final edits, if you will. _________________________

Lyrics

THE STATION It’s been 3 minutes since the last call And your voice still echoes in my ear The sound of your goodbye And I can’t even seem to shed a tear We knew we couldn’t be strong We knew we couldn’t last that long If only time stood still for a moment And the train never left the station We met on rainy Sunday All departures were suddenly delayed One table left in the café Words were shared and time it felt like years We knew we couldn’t be strong We knew we couldn’t last that long If only time stood still for a moment And the train never left the station Bridge: All aboard for the next train Grab your bags the sun has dried the rain Take a seat at the window He traces a heart and spells our my name It’s been 10 minutes since the last call And your voice still echoes in my ear The sound of your goodbye And here come the tears
